Aiko Takeuchi-Demirci teaches in FGSS.
She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in American Studies from Brown University and M.A. and B.A. in American Studies from the University of Tokyo. She is currently working on a book project on a transnational history of reproductive politics. Specifically, she examines the development of the birth control movement in the United States and Japan in the context of imperial struggles in the Pacific during the mid-twentieth century. Her teaching and research interests include reproductive politics, race relations, immigration, transnational popular culture, science and society, and U.S. and Japanese empires.
