"Dear ______," : a collection of monologues on the experiences of gender

"Dear____ ," is a gender-inclusive rendition of Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues. In an effort to combat the exclusive roots of The Vagina Monologues, the Womxn's Coalition is hosting this event with the mission to highlight Stanford students' varied experiences with their own gender identities, performances, and expectations. Each monologue, written and performed by Stanford students, will be delivered in the form of a letter.

This event is open to Stanford students and to faculty, staff, and others in the Stanford community interested in hearing students' voices on their experiences of gender.

All ticket proceeds will be donated to A Woman's Place, the only 24-hour supportive residential service in San Francisco offering emergency shelter and long-term treatment programs to women and transgender women with special needs due to mental disabilities, sexual or domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and HIV+/AIDS-related issues.

--Content Warning: Some of these pieces contain triggering and/or sensitive material including sexual violence, eating disorders, moments of trans-, queer-, and homo- phobia, as well as suicidal thoughts.

About the Stanford Womxn's Coalition: The purpose of the Stanford Womxn’s Coalition is to offer a dynamic space to engage with issues of intersectional feminism, to create educational programming that serves to involve the larger Stanford community in womxn’s issues, and to facilitate a group dedicated to womxn’s empowerment and womxn-to-womxn mentorship. We also aim to build alliances with and support other WVSOs on campus. Finally, the Womxn’s Coalition serves as advocates in ASSU and university administration policy-making regarding issues that affect womxn at Stanford University.
