FGSS Award for Leadership in Service and Community Building
This award recognizes the impactful work of a graduating senior in fostering community, engagement, and advocacy in gender equity and/or LGBTQIA+ rights on the Stanford campus.
Service is defined broadly and can include community work, intellectual support, creative, material, or scholarly forms of service to the Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Instructions
Students may submit a 500-750 word self-nomination or faculty or staff may submit nominations for candidates. Nominated students will be asked to also submit an unofficial transcript. Both can be sent to our Assistant Director of Student Services and Halima Kazem, Associate Director (hkazem [at] stanford.edu (hkazem[at]stanford[dot]edu)). Letters must include a detailed explanation of, and support for, how the student specifically meets the award criteria. A review committee will select the award recipient who will be honored at the FGSS End of Year Banquet.
