Namrata Verghese

Modern Thought and Literature

Namrata Verghese is a second-year PhD student in Modern Thought and Literature. She is also pursuing a joint JD at Stanford Law School. Broadly speaking, her research spans queer theory, postcolonial studies, and the intersection of law and the humanities. She received a BA (summa cum laude) in English from Emory University in 2019, where she was a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar, and an MA (with Distinction) in Postcolonial Studies from SOAS University of London in 2020. Her work appears in Teen Vogue, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Catapult, and elsewhere
