Julien Fischer

Julien Fischer is a Lecturer in the Program of Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and a recipient of the Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in the Humanities. Julien’s scholarship addresses questions at the intersections of Trans Studies, psychoanalysis, and the history of sexology. His current project, titled The Lure of Origins: Sexology and the Trans Autobiographical Mandate, interrogates the relationships between genres of self-writing and the construction of trans sexual subjectivities. Julien received his PhD in Literature and Feminist Studies from Duke University, and holds a BA in Global Gender Studies from the University of Buffalo.
