Stanford Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit

The Stanford Women’s Leadership Conference has been an incredible program for the WCC community for the past 13 years (for more information, see below). This academic year, in 2019, the WCC Staff are excited to announce that moving forward this program will be re-imagined into the Stanford Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit.

Mark your calendars: the 2019 Stanford Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019, 9:30am-4pm in the Alumni Center!

The Women’s Community Center invites students of all genders, identities, backgrounds, and experiences to join us at the Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit. Space will be limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

The theme of the 2019 Stanford Gender, Equity, and Justice Summit is Tomorrow's World is Ours to Build, based off the Yuri Kochiyama quote:

“Remember that consciousness is power. Consciousness is education and knowledge. Consciousness is becoming aware. It is the perfect vehicle for students. Consciousness-raising is pertinent for power, and be sure that power will not be abusively used, but used for building trust and goodwill domestically and internationally. Tomorrow’s world is yours to build.”

This year, the summit is focused around the idea of lifelong feminism and activism, and what it means for young people today to lead lives and careers centered around a passion for social justice.
