In the next workshop in our series on trans* issues. In the Trans*-Pedagogy workshop, we discuss how we teach topics in transgender studies or incorporate trans* issues into our syllabi. The focus will be on language and terminology, writing course descriptions, and developing course content, with time to share and discuss best practices. Please bring either a course description or syllabus to work with during the workshop.

The workshop will be facilitated by Dr. Karli Cerankowski. Dr. Cerankowski earned a PhD in Modern Thought and Literature at Stanford University in 2014. Karli’s research interests include transgender health, a/sexuality, and queer cultural studies. Karli is the co-editor of the volume, Asexualities: Feminist and Queer Perspectives (Routledge, 2014), and has published articles in the journals Feminist Studies and Women’s Studies Quarterly.

The workshop is open to all members of the Stanford community and Teaching Assistants are especially encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there.
